Meg Dembskey
B. Phty (ACU)
Meg holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the Australian Catholic University in Brisbane and has a special interest in Women’s Health. Meg has recently completed her Level 1 Pelvic Health through the Australian Physiotherapy Association with plans underway to extend her post graduate studies to include completion of her Level 2 qualification in 2024.
At Paul Ryan Physiotherapy, real time ultrasound imaging is used to assist the therapist to determine how well the pelvic floor and core muscles are functioning. Ultrasound imaging is a painless, non-invasive technology that allows the therapist and client to view the pelvic floor and core muscles in ‘real time’ on the screen. Clients report that ‘seeing’ the muscle activation, helps guide them to perform the contraction more effectively – specifically for retraining weakened pelvic floor muscles involved in the causation of urinary frequency, urgency, and stress incontinence.
As a keen sportsperson, Meg also enjoys assisting clients with various musculoskeletal and sporting injuries through a combination of hands-on manual therapy and exercise prescription.
As a team player, Meg thrives on a collaborative approach in developing an individualised treatment plan, and looks forward to assisting her clients to achieve their maximum potential.
